Since early October, Soh Daiko members have been working with 5 trainees who have joined us in our Autumn Festival and Recital performances. Akiyo, Anna, Dickson, Keiko, and Yun have been rigorously training to improve their drumming and performance skills to make it to the next step in our membership process, to gain Probationary Membership status. They have been joining us in drills, working on their endurance, their hitting technique, checking their stance, learning how to engage the audience, kiai, and more! They’ve also been developing some great callouses on their hands which only comes from hard earned sweat and a little blood.

By the end of January 2016, they will once again perform for the members who will make the final decision on whether they will advance or not. We have been teaching and observing them and all their effort counts!
