Soh Daiko traveled to Cornell University this past weekend for the East Coast Taiko Conference 2019 where we spent our time performing, taking workshops, and getting the word out about our 40th anniversary concert. A huge shout out goes to Yamatai for all their hard work in putting this event together.
After some R&R and time to reflect on the weekend, we are left with an overwhelming sense of gratitude for our east coast taiko community. In particular, the pioneers who have paved the way and are still graciously sharing what they know and inspiring new generations of taiko players with their performances. Thank you to everyone who traveled from near and far to be a part of this inspiring event; we loved meeting you, hearing your stories, learning alongside you, and ultimately growing stronger together. We are who we are today because of all of you.
